Amarante

This six-story hotel has 71 guestrooms, each with brass lights and bedside lighting controls. Rooms also offer small armchairs, wicker tables, and wireless Internet access (surcharge). Original artworks by local artists hang from yellow sponge-painted walls, and suites of Chêne-wood furniture are treated with the dye of the Amarante, a flower local to the region from which the hotel takes its name. White-tiled bathrooms have floral friezes, shower/tub combinations, dual-voltage shaver power sockets, bathrobes and slippers, and toilets in separate rooms.

The hotel’s 24-hour outdoor lap pool is open all year, and is set on a terrace of earthenware tiles, with parasols, informal tables and chairs, and lemon trees. After a swim, guests can enjoy an alfresco meal ordered from the adjoining La Farigoule restaurant, or order drinks from the bar.
